China Pledges More Aid To Liberia In Post-Ebola Recovery


TVC NEWS, CHINA - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has pledged China's full support in Liberia's post-Ebola recovery, ranging rebuilding health system and deploying more medics.

Wang Yi expressed this during a meeting with Liberia's President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Sunday in the capital of Monrovia, with an eight-member high-level Chinese delegation.

Sirleaf said that Liberia is very grateful to the aid given by the Chinese government and Chinese people in the fighting against Ebola virus.

She said the practical action made by China shows that China is the reliable friend of Liberia and Africa.

Wang Yi maintained that China will provide further medical support and personnel to train the local staff thereby improving the public health system.

The plan helping Liberia rebuild its country after the fighting against the deadly virus is resonated by Liberia, and has excited the Liberian people.

Wang Yi also met with Liberian Foreign Minster Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan. In the meeting, Wang said China is willing to push forward the financial and technical assistance to Liberia, and stand together with Liberia to carry out more trilateral and multilateral cooperation with other countries.

Wang dropped by the Chinese embassy to Liberia and Chinese peacekeepers in Liberia, as well as Chinese personnel working in Liberia.

He also visited the Ebola treatment center built by China and the Chinese reconstruction site of a stadium in Liberia.
