The First Black NBA Player Dies At The Age Of 86 [Earl Lloyd]


NBA records another death, in over a week Jerome Kersey died.

First black man to ever play in the NBA, Earl Lloyd passed away on Thursday the age of 86 in Detroit.

Earl played for nine seasons in the NBA and won a championship with the Syracuse Nationals in 1955.

He also coached the Detroit Pistons during the 1971-1972 seasons.

He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.

He played alongside two other black players, Chuck Cooper and Nat Clifton but was actually the first to run the court in an NBA game.
