Death Rises To 36 As Gombe Comes Under Attack Again, Hit By Multiple Explosions

Multiple bomb blasts have rocked Gombe, the capital of Gombe state, a week after twin blasts killed many people at the city’s central market.

Premium Times reports that the death toll has risen to 36 people after the attack of July 22.

The Chief Medical Director of the Specialist Hospital in Gombe, Reuben Ardo, said on Thursday that 86 people were taken to the hospital, out of which 15 died. And a pregnant woman was among the injured.

At the Federal Teaching Hospital, the Deputy Director Public Relation, Haruna El-Rasheed, said 66 people were taken to the hospital, out of which 21 died.

The first two blasts happened at busy motor parks at Dadin/Kowa Wednesday night, followed by third blast at Dukku motor parks, all in Gombe town.​

​The explosions, supposed to be from Improvised Explosive Devices worn by suicide bombers, happened at about 7.pm.

According to Vanguard, more than 40 people were feared dead in the multiple explosions.
