Man Arrested For Bringing "Weapon" To President Mahama's Church
Ghanaian security operatives arrested an unidentified man who carried a "weapon" into a church where President John Dramani Mahama and his family worship on Sunday.
The government in a statement said the 36-year-old was apprehended after his "fidgety and suspicious behaviour" was noticed during the morning service.
Mahama and his family were not at the Assemblies of God church in Accra when the incident happened, the statement signed by Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah said.
"He was escorted out by security personnel and, following a search, the weapon was found," the statement said.
It did not provide other details about the suspect or the weapon that was allegedly found.
